Hello and welcome! I’m Jennifer.
When I sat down to write “About Me” I thought, “Who am I? Why am I here on this earth?”
My first response was, “I am a mom.” This is the most important thing I’ve ever done. It is my greatest joy and my most revered responsibility.
In addition to being a mom, I am a recovering Type A over-achiever. I admit, I like to be in control. I like things to make sense. I want life to be fair. And for a good portion of my forty-something years, I thought these concepts were quite reasonable and even attainable.
After my first son died, I had to face a new reality. I learned I am not in control of anything except how I choose to handle the crap life throws my way.
Having children, and losing a child, has changed every aspect of my character and made me re-think everything I thought I knew. I have experienced the best gift and the most difficult loss imaginable.
The challenges I have faced on my journey led me here, to support and encourage you on your journey. I know you can suffer many trials and come out on the other side to live a happy and fulfilling life.
I’m not sure what situation brought you here … a marriage in trouble, the difficulty of parenting, the loss of a loved one. Whether it is one of these reasons or something else entirely, you are looking for help and support.
I am here to support you.
Everywhere I go, I meet women who desperately need to talk and share about their lives. I love these opportunities to give my full attention, to ask questions, and show how much I truly care about their stories and struggles.
You are probably wondering “Is this really a big deal?” The answer is a resounding, “Yes!”
It is not only my honor and privilege to listen to and encourage others, it is my purpose in life.
It took many years to put all the pieces together and change from the path I was on to the path I wanted to be on. In 2015 I took a major step when I founded a non-profit organization, The Center for Help and Hope. This organization supports women facing life challenges such as separation, divorce, parenting, coping with loss, and finding purpose. In 2016 I took another major step in my evolution. I attended an intensive training course at The Life Purpose Institute in San Diego to become a certified life coach. When I signed up for the course, my goal was to learn how to serve and support the women who came to The Center for Help and Hope for assistance.
As I studied and learned how to help others establish and achieve goals and find their purpose in life, I discovered my own life purpose! I am on this earth to help people learn and grow through life’s challenges and come out on the other side with clarity and confidence.
I promptly decided to quit my day job (as CFO of a construction company) to pursue my passion and purpose. Even though the decision to quit my day job came quickly, it took almost 2 years of planning and saving to actually do it. But alas, here I am!
